The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville has chosen Irene Lazzara, wife of local philanthropist Gasper Lazzara, to be recognized as one of 40 community members selected for their work with artists, educators, administrators, and benefactors of the arts.

With a longstanding history of donating to the arts in the local community, especially children’s art funds, Gasper and Irene Lazzara have made major contributions in the Jacksonville community. Among a few of these are the Lazzara Performance Hall at UNF, the Jacksonville Film Festival, MOCA Jacksonville, Florida Theatre, Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach, and most recently the Sculptures by the Sea project.
